At SOS Outils, we offer reliable and quality equipment rental services to meet your needs. To ensure a smooth experience for all our customers, please read our rental policies below carefully.
1. Booking Process
- Online Booking: All bookings must be made via our website, http://sosoutils.com, in the "Rent Equipment" section.
- Confirmation: Once your booking is complete, you will receive an email confirmation with your rental details (equipment, dates, costs).
- Minimum Age: Customers must be at least 18 years old to rent equipment. Parental Responsibility: Any attempt to rent made by a minor (under 18) or on behalf of a minor without legal supervision engages the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian, who will be held responsible for the equipment, fees, and potential damages.
2. Rates and Payments
- Rental Rates: Prices are indicated on each equipment's page and vary depending on the rental duration (day, week, month, etc.).
- Security Deposit: An amount corresponding to the item's value may be required for certain equipment. This amount will be specified during booking.
- Payment: Full payment for the rental is required before the start of the rental period. We accept payments by credit card, debit card, or other methods indicated on our website.
- Additional fees: Fees may apply in case of late return, damage, or non-return of equipment. In case of breakage, parts needed for repair and labor time will be charged to the client. The security deposit will be temporarily withheld until full damage assessment and may be applied in whole or in part to repair costs.
- If the equipment is returned excessively dirty, cleaning fees may apply.
- Rentals are always billed based on the actual usage duration, according to current rates (daily, weekly, or monthly).
For example, if equipment is kept for 2 months and 1 week, billing will be based on 2 months + 1 week.
When the duration exceeds the periods provided in our rate schedule (e.g., more than 3 months), additional days or weeks will be billed at the regular daily or weekly rate.
We reserve the right to adjust billing accordingly to reflect this extended use.
3. Pickup and Return
- Equipment Pickup: Equipment must be picked up at our service point, either at the store or our Deauville warehouse depending on the type of tool. Some equipment that is too heavy or bulky will only be available at the warehouse.
Delivery: Delivery is available on weekdays only (Monday to Friday), subject to availability. No weekend delivery is guaranteed. Delivery fees are $25 + $1.75/km (one way only), calculated from 4630 Blvd Industriel, Sherbrooke.
- Responsibility: Round-trip transportation is the responsibility of the customer.
- Return: Equipment must be returned on the agreed date and time, in its original condition (clean and in good working order). Any delay will incur additional charges equivalent to one day's rental per day of delay.
- In case of voluntary non-return or attempted concealment, the equipment will be considered stolen, and the client may be charged its market value and reported to the authorities.
4. Responsibility for Damages
- Inspection: All equipment is inspected before and after each rental, and regularly maintained (oil changed, filters checked, etc.). You are responsible for any damage occurring during the rental period.
- Reasonable Tolerance: We use common sense — normal wear and tear such as small scratches or a paint stain are accepted. We simply wish to avoid abuse or negligent use.
- Repairs: In case of damage, repair costs will be borne by the customer. If the equipment is irreparable or lost, the replacement cost at its market value will be required.
- Appropriate Use: Equipment must be used only for intended tasks and in accordance with provided instructions.
5. Cancellations and Modifications
- Cancellation: If you cancel a booking before final payment, the deposit (if applicable) will not be refunded. Cancellations after the start of the rental period are not eligible for any refund.
- Modification: Any modification to a booking (dates, equipment) is subject to availability and must be requested at least 24 hours in advance.
6. General Conditions
- Equipment Condition: All our equipment is maintained and in good condition. If you notice a problem with any equipment, inform us immediately.
- Customer Responsibility: You are responsible for the safe use of equipment and compliance with safety instructions.
- Insurance: We recommend checking if your insurance covers the use of rented equipment. SOS Outils is not responsible for injuries or damages caused by improper use.

8. Opening Hours
Our opening hours for equipment pickup and return are:
